These terms are the agreement between you and LingoReel. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
LingoReel is operated by [YOUR FULL NAME OR TRADING NAME], a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@lingoreel.co.
2. The service
LingoReel lets you paste public YouTube links, transcribes and translates the audio into audio-aligned sentences, and lets you save words and sentences to review with spaced repetition. Features may change, improve or be discontinued over time.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your login secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use LingoReel.
- One account is for one person; don’t share credentials or resell access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use LingoReel only for lawful, personal language learning. You must not:
- import or process content you don’t have the right to use, or use the service to infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights;
- break the law, or breach YouTube’s or any third party’s terms, in connection with your use;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape or gain unauthorised access to the service;
- resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the transcripts, translations or other output except for your own study.
You are responsible for the links and content you submit and for how you use the output.
5. Third-party content and no affiliation
LingoReel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. “YouTube” is a trademark of Google LLC. The service processes publicly available video audio to create study material for your personal use; your use of any video remains subject to YouTube’s terms and the rights of the content’s owner.
6. Plans, billing and renewals
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, who is the seller of record and handles payment and any applicable taxes.
- Usage is metered by hours of new content imported, as described on our pricing page. Prices are shown in US dollars.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. We may change prices or plans, and will give reasonable notice before a change affects you.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account; you’ll keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
As LingoReel is digital content supplied immediately, by importing content you ask us to begin performance right away and acknowledge that you lose the automatic 14-day right to cancel for content that has already been delivered. This does not affect your other statutory rights as a consumer. If something has gone wrong, email us — we deal with refund requests fairly and case by case.
8. Availability and accuracy
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted availability, and automated transcripts and translations may contain errors. Because we depend on third parties (including YouTube), some videos may be unavailable or fail to process.
9. Intellectual property
We own LingoReel, its software and its branding. You keep ownership of the words and sentences you save. You grant us the limited licence needed to process the content you submit so we can provide the service to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LingoReel is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using LingoReel and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or where we’re required to by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the country you live in.
